The 5500 square foot apartment renovation involved joining two apartments in a landmarked building for an acclaimed Japanese clothing designer. The apartment is organized around the central building core which, clad in sand-blasted oak paneling, resembles the trunk of a sheltering tree a symbol of life in Japanese culture.
