The balance operates on the principle that equilibrium is achieved through the horizontal displacement of a movable balance arm along a fixed fulcrum beam. This act alters the relative relationship of the interior and exterior lenghts of the beam until the horizon(tal) is re-established. The balance weighs substances in one ounce increments up to one pound and is calibrated to inscribe this limit spatially within the 90 degree angle of the corner. The balance is structurally integrated with the corner and site specific.
