With the presentation of the prototype to the faculty stakeholders, a number of critiques emerged. Foremost among them was the concern for the loss of the traditional configuration of the amphi as an enclosed semi-round space which was universally believed to foster intimate mutual interaction between lecturer and the participants while at the same time serving as an important component of the INSEAD brand and a hallmark of the traditional business education format.
The Re-concept phase attempted to address these concerns and refine the relationship between the amphi and the small group learning which takes place in the open breakout spaces, all the while, creating a level of maximum functional flexibility to accommodate future adaptations.
